Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways Inaugurates New Parcel Management System at Mumbai Central station

Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Govt of India, inaugurated new Parcel Management System in a function at Mumbai Central o­n Saturday, 27thDecember, 2014. This system is a unique E-initiative, maintaining the user-friendly tradition of leveraging technology for better services, amenities and overall management.Smt Snehal Ambekar, Hon’ble Mayor along with Hon’ble MPs Shri Arvind Sawant, Shri Anil Desai, Hon’ble MLA Shri Waris Yusuf Pathan & Central Railway General Manager Shri S. K. Sood were also present o­n this occasion.
            Shri Hemant Kumar, General Manager, Western Railway welcomed the Hon’ble Guests and presented them bouquets. Shri Shailendra Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Central division gave away the vote of thanks. A presentation about Parcel Management System was also displayed o­n this occasion.
            Parcel Management system is implementation of IT and computerizing the work of Booking, Loading, Unloading, tracking, tracing, delivery and internet based enquiry. As per the main features of parcel management system, booking, weighment and cash payment can be done o­n single window. The use of technologies like Bar-coding and tracking facility improves the management of parcel traffic. Western Railway is going to introduce new Superfast Weekly Express train Superfast weekly express between Indore and Jammu Tawi via Ujjain-Nagda-Kota-Mathura Jn. This train will benefit the passengers of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
The Inaugural run of Indore-Jammu Tawi will be o­n Monday, 29thDecember, 2014 from Indore as Special train. The inaugural run of the train will be run as Train No.02941 Ex Indore o­n 29/12/2014 at 21.00 hrs. The regular run of Train No.22941 will commence from 05th January, 2015.
Indore-Jammu Tawi Weekly Superfast Express (via Kota-Mathura)
In its regular run Train No. 22941 Indore-Jammu Tawi Weekly Superfast Express will leave Indore o­n every Monday at 23.55 hrs w.e.f 05/01/2015 and will reach Jammu Tawi at 01.20 hrs o­n third day i.e Wednesday.
Similarly, in return direction, Train No. 22942 Jammu Tawi – Indore Weekly Express will leave Jammu Tawi o­n every Wednesday at 05.00 hrs w.e.f 31/12/2014 and arrive Indore at 06.00 hrs the next day.
The train will halt at Dewas, Ujjain, Nagda, Bhawani Mandi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Mathura Jn., Delhi Safdarjang, Panipat, Ambala Cantt., Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt. and Pathankot stations in both the directions.
The train will comprise of II AC Tier, IIIAC Tier, Sleeper class & II class general coaches.
The booking of inaugural train No.02941 will be opened from Sunday, 28th December, 2014, while booking for regular run of 22941 will open from 29thDecember, 2014 at all Passenger Reservation counters.

Tradition of Leveraging Technology for better services continues WESTERN RAILWAY TO CROSS 450 MARK FOR ATVMs ON ITS SUBURBAN SECTION

 Western Railway has been pioneer in leveraging technology for betterment of passenger services, amenities and overall management. Maintaining this user friendly tradition, Western Railway has now planned to cross the mark of 450, by planning to install 157 more Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM) over its suburban network.
In view of providing more convenience to the commuters and to reduce the queues at booking windows, Western Railway has already installed 300 ATVMs o­n Suburban section between Churchgate and Dahanu Road. Western Railway is also in process to install 157 more ATVMs, apart from existing 300 ATVMs over suburban network, after which the total number of ATVMs will be 457. Similarly, it is also decided to provide SMC counters at all locations with Booking counters at all suburban stations. Presently, about 100 SMC terminals exist o­n suburban section. This massive increase will facilitate the availability of ATVMs at every entry & exit at each suburban station.


For the convenience of passengers and to clear extra rush during the festive season, Western Railway will run 3 pairs of special trains for the benefit of passengers.
·Bandra (T)–Jaipur Premium Superfast special train ( 04 Trips )
Train No. 09726 Bandra Terminus-Jaipur Premium Superfast Special train will depart from Bandra Terminus at 06.15 hrs o­n Monday from 29thDecember, 2014 to 05th January, 2015 (02 trips) and reach Jaipur at 01.15 hrs  next day.
Similarly, Train No. 09725 Jaipur - Bandra Terminus Premium Superfast Special train will depart from Jaipur at 08.30 hrs o­n Sunday from 28th December, 2014 to 04th January, 2015 (02 trips)  and reach Bandra Terminus at 04.45 hrs next day.
            The train will halt at Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam and Ajmer stations in both directions.


Railways have decided to extend the run of Bi-weekly special train between Yesvantpur and Miraj to clear the extra rush of passengers as per details given below.
Train No.06517 Yesvantpur- Miraj Bi-weekly special will leave Yesvantpur at 20.40 hrs every Monday and Thursday till 19.1.2015 and will reach Miraj at 10.15 hrs next day.
Train No.06518 Miraj-Yesvantpur Bi-weekly special will leave Miraj at 16.45 hrs every Tuesday and Friday till 20.1.2015 and will reach Yesvantpur at 06.20 hrs next day.
HALTS:            Tumkur, Arsikere, Davangere, Hubli, Dharwar, Belgaum, Ghataprabha and Kudachi.
COMPOSITION: o­ne 1st AC cum AC-2 tier, o­ne AC-2 Tier, Four AC-3 Tier, 10 sleeper class, 2 General second class and 2 General Second class cum Guard’s break van.
RESERVATION: Bookings for Train No. 06518 open from 28.12.2014.

Railways have decided to run 2 Premium specials between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai and Madgaon to clear the extra rush of passengers during Winter Holidays. The details are as under - 

Train No. 02001 Premium Special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 22.10 hrs o­n Monday 29.12.2014 (1 trip) and arrive Madgaon at 09.30 hrs next day.

Train No. 02002 Premium Special will leave Madgaon at 10.00 hrs o­n Thursday 1.1.2015 (1 trip) and arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 22.30 hrs same day.


Central Railway has decided to EXTEND the run of following Superfast Special trains o­n the existing days, stoppages and timings to clear the extra rush of Passengers. The details are as under:


01651 Weekly Superfast special leaving Pune at 2.15 pm o­n every Tuesday extended upto 13.1.2015 (2 trips) and will reach Habibganj at 5.30 am next day.
