Ministry of Railways is going to introduce a new Weekly Express train between Ahmedabad and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra via Palanpur- Jaipur -Rewari w.e.f 25/01 /2015.
Ahmedabad -Katra Weekly Express (via Palanpur- Jaipur -Rewari)
From 25th January 2015, Train No. 19415 Ahmedabad - Katra Weekly Express train will depart from Ahmedabad at 19.00 hrs on every Sunday and reach Katra at 06.50 hrs on third day i.e Tuesday.
Railways have decided to temporarily augment one AC 3tier Coach in 2 pairs of trains i.e. 12903/04 Mumbai Central – Amritsar Golden Temple Mail and 12955/56 Mumbai Central – Jaipur Superfast Express ; two AC 3Tier Coaches in 12267/68 Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad Duranto Express & one Second Class Sleeper Coach each in 12961/62 Mumbai Central – Indore Avantika Express, 12927/28 Mumbai Central – Vadodara Express and 12971/72 Bandra(T) – Bhavnagar Express. one AC 3 Tier coach has also been added permanentlyin 13426/25 Surat – Malda Town Express Ex Surat from 26th Jan,2015 and Ex Malda Town from 24th Jan,2015.
It has been decided by Ministry of Railways, that 50% of the existing tatkal quota shall be sold under dynamic fare scheme. After booking of the 50% of the tatkal quota under Tatkal scheme, the subsequent 50% of the tatkal quota, defined as premium tatkal quota shall be sold on dynamic pricing. This scheme shall be operational for the 11 WR trains departing from originating stations with effect from given dates as under:-
·12471 Bandra (T)-Jammu Tawi Swaraj Express – with immediate effect
·12915 Ahmedabad-New Delhi Ashram Express – w.e.f 21/1/2015
SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN MUMBAI AND NAGPUR/SHRI CHHATRAPATI SHAHU MAHARAJ TERMINUS (KOLHAPUR) AND PUNE AND MADGAON
Central Railway will run special trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai -Nagpur/Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus(Kolhapur) and Pune-Madgaon to clear the extra rush of long weekend.
A) MUMBAI-NAGPUR SPECIALS
01013 Special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai on 24.1.2015 at 00.20 hrs and arrive Nagpur at 15.00 hrs same day.
01014 Special will leave Nagpur on 24.1.2015 at 20.20 hrs and arrive Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai at 12.15 hrs next day.
EXTENSION OF PUNE - HABIBGANJ & PUNE - JABALPUR SUPERFAST SPECIAL TRAINS-BOOKINGS OPEN FROM 23.1.2015
Central Railway has decided to EXTEND the run of following Superfast Special trains on the existing days, stoppages and timings to clear the extra rush of Passengers. The details are as under:
A) PUNE-HABIBGANJ-PUNE WEEKLY SUPERFAST SPECIAL
01651 Weekly Superfast special leaving Pune at 2.15 pm on every Tuesday extended upto 31.3.2015 and will reach Habibganj at 5.30 am next day.
Railways have decided to extend the run of Bi-weekly special train between Yesvantpur and Miraj to clear the extra rush of passengers as per details given below.
Train No.06517 Yesvantpur- Miraj Bi-weekly special will leave Yesvantpur at 20.40 hrs every Monday and Thursday till 19.2.2015 and will reach Miraj at 10.15 hrs next day.
Ministry of Railways have decided that 50% of the existing tatkal quota tickets shall be sold under dynamic fare scheme. After booking of the first 50% of tatkal tickets under tatkal quota, the subsequent 50% tatkal tickets will be sold on dynamic pricing. The fare shall increase by 20% after each slab of 10% berths are sold subject to the existing cap (maximum fare chargeable) on dynamic fare.

Railway Protection Force, an Armed Force Protecting Indian Railways, Participating in the Republic Day Parade
The Contingent of Railway Protection Force (RPF), an Armed Force of the Union of India is participating in the Republic Day Parade-2015 representing about 75000 Officers & men of the Force deployed throughout the length and breadth of the Indian Railways. The Marching contingent of RPF is being commanded by Shri Vinit Kharab, Assistant Commandant and also consists of 03 Sub-ordinate Officers and 144 other ranks led by RPF Band. The RPF Band is being led by Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Inspector and consists of 04 Sub-ordinate Officers and 72 other ranks playing marching tune “Bharat ke Jawan”.
BAREILLY: The long wait of railway commuters finally came to an end on Thursday evening after the commissioner for rail safety (CRS) declared the interlocked tracks between Bareilly railway station and Bareilly city station fit for use.
A three-hour long trial was conducted by railway officials despite bad weather on Thursday. CRS Prabhat Kumar Bajpai said, however, that some minor changes need to be made before railway traffic commences between the two stations.

The Salem Railway Division has proposed to install escalators in Erode and Salem Railway Junctions and foot over bridges (FOBs) in Kodumudi and Sankari Railway Stations.
The above proposals are under the serious consideration of the division, Shubhranshu, Divisional Railway Manager, said while addressing the members of the newly-constituted Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) here on Friday.
The DRM said that Salem division is totally committed to the timely operation of trains, cleanliness of railway premises, and passenger amenities. He mentioned that sufficient cash imprest has been provided for Station Managers for keeping the stations clean, in line with Swachch Bharath initiative of the Prime Minister.
Many new advance ticket booking counters are being opened in the stations under Salem Division. New station buildings/ extensions are coming up in Salem, Tirupur and Coimbatore North stations, he said.
Referring to the pleas of the members for introduction of new trains and additional facilities, Mr. Shubhranshu suggested to the members to take up these matters with their respective MPs for drawing the attention of the Railway Ministry.
He mentioned that 13 advance ticket booking counters and eight Post Office advance ticket booking counters are being operated by Salem Division in various places.
He sought help from the members for installing battery-operated cars in Tirupur, Erode and Karur, and medical assistance booths in Coimbatore and Tirupur, for which the DRUCC members assured to take steps.
V. Thavamanipandi, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, K. P. Damodaran, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, were present.

The history of Indian Railways has been depicted through photographs. The photograph stall has been divided into two sections. These are 'Memorable moments of Indian Railways' and 'History of East India Railway.' There are photographs showing construction of Curzon Bridge on Ganga, scene of Prayag station in 1908 station, scene of old Allahabad railway station and others.
