A crane working under phase-II of Metro project in walled city fell on an ancient old temple on Sunday night.
However, no one was injured in the accident.
The 75-tonne crane broke at about 1am and fell over a 250-year-old temple, owned by one Nawal Kishore.
The broken part of the crane damaged the temple wall and an adjoining old haveli.
Locals claim the accident occurred due to carelessness of the Metro project workers and it could have turned fatal but for the temple, which absorbed the impact.
Shocked people, who live in the temple and nearby areas, spent the night out in the open in fear.
Following the accident, chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday held a meeting with Metro officials and agencies related to the project.
Metro officials said a rescue team reached the accident spot and started the relief work.
Jaipur collector Krishna Kunal said seven families residing in the haveli have been shifted to Maheshwari Sadan.
In the meeting Raje said, "Negligence will not be tolerated in construction work of Jaipur Metro and the persons found responsible for negligence will not be spared."
She also directed the officials of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation, Municipal Corporation, JDA, district officials and the police to prepare a detailed contingency plan to meet any possible accident situation.
She also asked them to ensure that a rescue team with all resources is always present at the construction sites to provide immediate relief.
The CM also directed the officials to immediately start repair work of the buildings damaged in the accident and directed Metro officials to ensure that sub-standard materials are not used or else action would be initiated.

The chief minister also directed the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to remove encroachments on roads in walled city, run campaign against stray animals and repair damaged roads.
