Indian Railways Strengthens Its Presence on Social Media 


Under The Direction Of Railway Minister, All General Managers And Divisional Railway Managers Have Created Their Twitter Handles
Railway Ministry Now Commands 4.51 Lakh Followers Of Its Twitter Handle And More Than 3.8 Lakh Members On Its Facebook Page
The move is described as unprecendented  on governance and transparency in a govt. Department

Indian Railways reaches out to its passengers and customers on Social Media in a big way. Indian Railways is now one of the leading handles on twitter and one of the most popular pages on Facebook.
Indian Railways, popularly known as RailMinIndia,in Social Media has acquired a following of 4.51 Lakhfollowers on its twitter handle and more than 3.8 Lakh on its Facebook page.
In an unprecedented move directed and led by the Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, all DRMs  and General Managers of the Zones have created their own official handles in order to interact closely with the passengers and offer real time solutions.  This move has been widely appreciated by the stakeholders as this type of governance and transparency has never been seen before in any Government department.  The Railway Minister has always been emphasizing on maintaining on best possible connect with the public. He has time and again directed to collect people’s feedback and address public grievances.
 Both the social media platforms of Ministry of Railways are followed widely as they provide a combination of information pertinent to passengers, new policies, new innovations, new ideas, new developments in infrastructure and rolling stock, new thoughts as well as vignettes of the past. They keep the people informed of the processes which are going on in the Railways which would culminate in long term policies benefitting the passengers.  Both the social media platforms of IR are extremely riveting due to their interesting and informative content.
The Social Media platforms of the Ministry of Railways have been created and designed to engender participation by the public at large. Surveys are conducted; new ideas and suggestions are sought regarding various issues affecting the travellers and other users.   The strongest feature of the twitter handle, RailMinIndia, is its responsiveness to the grievances and suggestions offered by its followers.
The twitter handles of all GMs and DRMs are on Ministry’s twitter handle, face book page RailMinIndia, as well as on the Indian Railways websitewww.indianrailways.gov.in.

RAILWAY MANPASAND BEDROLL KE LIYE DENE HOGE CHARGE

SOUTH CENTRAL RAILWAY TO AUGMENT BANGALORE CITY-KAKINADA-BANGALORE CITY & BANGALORE-NAGERCOIL- BANGALORE EXPRESS WITH ONE ADDIITIONAL SECOND CLASS SLEEPER COACH TEMPORARILY

 South Central Railway has advised for temporary augmentation of Train Nos.17210/17209 Bangalore City-Kakinada-Bangalore CityExpress with one additional Second Class Sleeper coach, from KAKINADA end from 16thto 27th August, 2015 and from Bangalore City end from 19thto 30th August, 2015 to clear extra rush of traffic.

SWR TO RUN SUVIDHA EXPRESS SPECIAL TRAIN Nos. 02613/02614 KRISHNARAJAPURAM-KOCHUVELI-KRISHNARAJAPURAM TO CLEAR EXTRA RUSH DURING ONAM FESTIVAL

South Western Railway has decided to run Suvidha Express Special Train Nos.02613/02614 Krishnarajapuram-Kochuveli-Krishnarajapuram for 01 trip in each direction to clear extra rush during Onam festival.
 
Accordingly, Train No.02613 Krishnarajapuram-Kochuveli Suvidha Express Special will depart at KRISHNARAJAPURAM station at 19-00 hrs. on Wednesday, the 26th August, 2015 (01 trip only) and arrive KOCHUVELI at 11-15 hrs., the next day.

NO IMPACT o­n SER TRAIN SERVICES DURING 12 HRS. BANGLA BANDH


Kolkata, 18 August, 2015:
South Eastern Railway train services were almost normal during 12-hour Bangla Bandh called by a political party, today (18.8.2015). There was no impact o­n SER train services. All Up & Dn mail/express trains originating from and terminating at Howrah, Shalimar and Santragachi left/arrived as per schedule.

However, rail blockade and agitation were staged at two stations viz. Dasnagar and Bauria ranging from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Consequently 18616 Hatia-Howrah Kriya Yoga Express and 12865 Howrah-Purulia Lalmati Express suffered slight detention.

REMARKABLE GROWTH IN SER’s FREIGHT EARNINGS AND LOADING

South Eastern Railway during the first four months of the current financial year i.e. from April 2015 to July 2015 has achieved a remarkable improvement in freight earnings registering a growth of 9.48 %.
During the above period South Eastern Railway has generated earnings of Rs.3444.78 crores from originating freight traffic as against earnings of Rs.3146.60 crores earned during the corresponding period of last financial year (2014-2015), thus recording a remarkable jump of Rs.298.18 crores i.e. a growth of 9.48%.

SER’S FREIGHT BUSINESS INITIATIVES

As a part of month-long Freight Business Initiatives drive as advised by Railway Board, South Eastern Railway will be focusing o­n the ways and means to increase the originating freight loading. A series of seminars will be organised for the enhancement of freight traffic. The first of these Seminars o­n Steel Production and Despatch was organised by South Eastern Railway at its Headquarters, Garden Reach this afternoon (12.8.2015).The focus of the Seminar is o­n originating freight loading, performance/plan of action and completion of throughput enhancement works.

SER CARRIES 19,518 EXTRA PASSENGERS IN JULY 2015 BY AUGMENTING POPULAR TRAINS

Kolkata, South Eastern Railway has been augmenting its popular trains o­n a daily basis following intensive day to day monitoring of wait listed passengers. In the month of July 2015, as many as 274 coaches of different types were added to various long distance popular trains to clear the summer rush. This included twenty o­ne AC-2 tier coaches, twenty two AC 3-tier coaches, two Composite AC coaches, 141 Sleeper class coaches and eighty eight Seating reserved coaches.

SER ORGANISES IRON ORE INDUSTRY DELEGATE MEET AS A PART OF ITS FREIGHT BUSINESS INITIATIVE

Kolkata, Aug.19, 2015:
As a part of “TARGET” (Traffic Augmentation for Required Growth and Enhancement of Throughput)- Drive for Traffic augmentation with a focus o­n freight loading, completion of throughput works and plan of action and performance, South Eastern Railway is organizing seminars and meetings with representatives of different industries. The main objective of organizing such meet is to explore the possibilities of increasing railway’s originating freight loading by removing different obstacles faced by its freight customers. The second such meeting was held today (19.8.15) at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach with delegates from Iron Ore industry by organizing an Interactive Seminar o­n ‘’Iron Ore by Rail”. The first meeting was held o­n 12th August with representatives from Steel Industry.

Awareness Campaign to improve MMTS passenger traffic

In order to improve the patronage of MMTS services, an awareness campaign was organized over Hyderabad division o­n Sitafalmand-Falaknuma-Umdanagar section o­n 18.08.2015 from 06:00 hours o­nwards. During the campaign, public were requested to utilize MMTS services which are quicker, cheaper, safer and punctual.

SCR to run Eight Special Trains between Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam & Visakhapatnam- Dharmavaram

            In order to clear extra rush of Passengers, SCR will run eight special trains between Vijayawada- Visakhapatnam and Visakhapatnam- Dharmavaram as detailed below:-

1)Vijayawada- Visakhapatnam- VijayawadaSpecial Train(4 services):-

Train No. 07271 Vijayawada- Visakhapatnam Special Train will depart Vijayawada at 23:00 hrs o­n 20th and 27th August, 2015 and arrive Visakhapatnam at 06:50 hrs o­n the next day.
In the return direction, Train No. 07272 Visakhapatnam- Vijayawada Special Train will depart Visakhapatnam at 22:55 hrs o­n 23rdand 30th August, 2015 and arrive Vijayawada at 05:10 hrs o­n the next day.

Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) Meeting Held in Hyderabad Division

57TH  Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) Meeting   of Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway, was held today (ie o­n19.08.2015) at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Hyderabad Division, Secunderabad, The meeting was chaired by Smt. Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager. Shri. B.S.K.Rajkumar Addl. Divisional Railway manager,  Shri. B.D.Christopher  Secretary DRUCC & Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and other Branch Officers of Hyderabad Division were  present in the meeting.  Eleven DRUCC members participated in the meeting. 

Tirupati-Hazrat Nizamuddin-Tirupati AP Sampark Kranthi Tri-Weekly Express diverted to run without touching Secunderabad

Train No. 12707/12708 Tirupati-H Nizamuddin-Tirupati AP Sampark Kranthi Tri-Weekly Express has been diverted to run via Kacheguda without touching Secunderabad Railway Station with effect from 1st January, 2016 in both directions.
            Accordingly, Train No. 12707 Tirupati-H Nizamuddin AP Sampark Kranthi Express will depart Tirupati at 05:40 hrs, arrive/depart Renigunta at 05:55/06:25 hrs, arrive/depart Kacheguda at 17:05/17:25 hrs, arrive/depart Kazipet at 19:53/19:55 hrs, arrive/depart Balharshah at 23:05/23:15 hrs and arrive H Nizamuddin at 18:00 hrs o­n the next day with effect from 1st January, 2016.
