Ministry of Railways to Launch RAIL HAMSAFAR SAPTAAH' – a Week Long Celebration to Highlight Railway Achievements During The Last Two Years.
The Different Days Of The Week Will Be Observed As Swachchta Diwas, Satkar Diwas, Sewa Diwas, Satarkata Diwas, Saamanjasya Diwas, Sanyojan Diwas, Sanchaar Diwas
On 25th May, 2016 Union Government shall be completing two years. During this period a number of initiatives have been launched and significant achievements made by Indian Railways in all spheres, especially in its responsiveness, accessibility and improvement of passenger amenities.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for taking up Bina-Katni 3rd line project at an estimated cost of Rs.2,478.23 crore and expected completion cost of Rs.2,917.06 crore.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for taking up Vizianagaram and Titlagarh 3rd line project at an estimated cost of Rs.2,335.68 crore.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for doubling of Roza -Sitapur Cantt.- Burhwal Broad Gauge single line project at an estimated cost of Rs.1,295.42 crore with expected completion cost of Rs.1,486.46 crore with 5% escalation per annum.

The length of the railway line will be 116.17 km. The completion period of the project will be four years.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for a new broad gauge line between Mau Station of North Eastern Railway and Tarighat Terminal station of East Central Railway. The total length of this new broad gauge line will be 51 kilometers.
Shri Mittal has graduated from Regional Engineering College, Allahabad in 1977 and was awarded many silver medals and gold medals. He was deputed to Germany and Switzerland in 1990 to finalize the design of 3rd Godavari Bridge. He has also undergone foreign trainings in HEC Business School, Paris in 2006 for Strategic Management and Business Development, besides training for Track management system in Italy in 2009.

· Indian Railways launched three social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter and You Tube with the handle @railminindia. Ministry of Railways employed first of its kind, a real time 24x7 public grievance system through Twitter and provided medical, security and other emergency assistance to travelling passengers
· All India Security Helpline 182 set up to report any untoward incident and seek emergency help during travel
