WR TO RUN WEEKLY DIWALI SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN AHMEDABAD - MANGALORE JN. (via Vasai Road)

For the convenience of passengers and to clear the extra rush during the festive season, W. Rly has decided to run Weekly Holiday Special train o­n Special fare between Ahmedabad & Mangalore Jn. (via Vasai Road) from 11th to 26th October, 2016.
·Train No. 09416/09415 Ahmedabad – Mangalore Jn.  Weekly Special train with Special fare (via Vasai Road)
Train No. 09416 Ahmedabad - Mangalore Weekly Special train will leave Ahmedabad at 09.30 hrs o­n every Tuesday, will arrive Vasai Road at 16.50 hrs o­n the same day and will reach Mangalore Jn. at 14.00 hrs, the next day (Wednesday) as per the MONSOON timings. This train will run o­n 11th, 18th & 25th October, 2016. 
Similarly, Train No.09415 Mangalore - Ahmedabad Weekly Special train will depart from Mangalore at 15.45 hrs o­n every Wednesday, will arrive Vasai Road at 12.10 hrs o­n the next day (Thursday) and will reach Ahmedabad at 19.20 hrs o­n the second day, i.e. Thursday as per the MONSOON timings. This train will run o­n 12th, 19th & 26th October, 2016. 
The train will have AC 2 Tier, AC 3 Tier, Sleeper Class and Pantry Car coaches.
It will halt at Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, Boisar, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki and Suratkal stations in both directions.
The booking for train no. 09416 Ahmedabad – Mangalore Jn.  Weekly Special train will be opened from  6th October, 2016 at all PRS counters and IRCTC website.

SURAT - MUZAFFARPUR WEEKLY EXPRESS TO HALT AT DAHOD STATION

For the convenience of passengers, Ministry of Railways has decided to provide stoppage to Train No. 19053 /19054 Surat – Muzaffarpur Weekly Express atDAHOD station o­n experimental basis for six months w.e.f  07/10/2016.
Accordingly, Train No. 19053 Surat – Muzaffarpur Weekly Express will reach Dahod station at 11.00 hrs, will have a halt of 1 minute and depart at 11.01 hrs. Similarly, in return direction, Train No. 19054 Muzaffarpur – Surat Weekly Express will reach Dahod station at 12.44 hrs, will have a halt of 1 minute and depart at 12.45 hrs. 

PUNE – SANTRAGACHI – PUNE AC WEEKLY SPECIALS

Central Railway will run Air-conditioned weekly special trains o­n special charges between Pune - Santragachi to clear the extra rush of passengers during Diwali festival. The details are as under:

01419 AC weekly special will leave Pune at 10.30 hrs o­n every Wednesday from 26.10.2016 to 23.11.2016 (5 trips) and arrive Santragachi at 18.30 hrs next day.

01420 AC weekly special will leave Santragachi at 06.00 hrs o­n every Friday from 28.10.2016 to 25.11.2016 (5 trips) and arrive Pune at 20.05 hrs next day.

HALTS: Lonavala, Panvel, Kalyan, Igatupuri, Nasik Road, Bhusaval, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar and Kharagpur.

COMPOSITION: - 13 AC 3-tier.

RESERVATION: Bookings for 01419 o­n special charges will open at all PRS locations and through Internet o­n 10.10.2016.

32 Air-conditioned Festival Specials between Pune and Jaipur / Varanasi / Jammu Tawi o­n Special Charges


Central Railway will run 32 festival specials between Pune and Jaipur / Varanasi / Jammu Tawi to clear the extra rush of passengers during Puja and Diwali Holidays. The details are as under:


Pune-Jaipur Weekly AC Specials (12 services)



01477 AC Special will leave Pune o­n every Sunday from 23.10.2016 to 27.112016 (6 trips) at 1030 hrs and arrive Jaipur at 1055 hrs next day. 01478 AC Special will leave Jaipur at 1245 hrs o­n every Monday from 24.10.2016 to 28.11.2016 (6 trips) and arrive Pune at 1225 hrs next day.



Halts: Lonavala, Panvel, Vasai Road, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Nagda, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Durgapura

Composition: 13 AC-3 Tier



Pune-Varanasi Weekly AC Specials (10 services)



01453 AC Special will leave Pune o­n every Thursday from 27.10.2016 to 24.11.2016 (5 trips) at 1045 hrs and arrive Varanasi at 1700 hrs next day. 01454 AC Special will leave Varanasi o­n every Friday from 28.10.2016 to 25.11.2016 (5 trips) at 2155 hrs and arrive Pune at 0405 hrs o­n third day.

01435 AC Special will leave Pune o­n every Sunday from 23.10.2016 to 20.11.2016 (5 trips) at 1045 hrs and arrive Jammu Tawi at 0010 hrs o­n third day. 01436 AC Special will leave Jammu Tawi o­n every Tuesday from 25.10.2016 to 22.11.2016 (5 trips) at 0930 hrs and arrive Pune at 2115 hrs next day.

Railways have decided to run weekly special train between Yesvantpur and Pandharpur to clear the extra rush of passengers as per details given below.

Train No.06541 weekly tatkal special will leave Yesvantpur at 18.00 hrs every Thursday from 13.10.2016 to 24.11.2016 (7 Trips) and will arrive Pandharpur at 11.35 hrs next day.

Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Darbhanga Express to have Single Train Number

Consequent upon extension of extension of 11061 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Muzaffarpur  (4 days a week) Express to Darbhanga from 9.1.2016 and provision of halt to 11065 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Darbhanga Tri-weekly Express at Bhagwanpur, both the trains will be run with a single number with effect from 10.2.2017.

11061 Express will leave daily at 12.15 hrs from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus from 10.2.2017 and arrive Darbhanga at 01.10 hrs o­n third day.
11062 Express will leave daily at 13.10 hrs from Darbhanga from 10.2.2017 and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 03.40 hrs o­n third day.

Minister of Railways Dedicates a Newly laid section of Hansdiha - Barapalasi in Jharkhand to the Nation Hansdiha - Dumka Passenger Also Flagged off


Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu today inaugurated a newly laid section between Hansdiha to Barapalasi (28 km) in Jharkhand and flagged off a passenger train service (Train No. 53451/53452) Hansdiha - Dumka Passenger. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications & Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha and Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain were specially present to grace the occasion. Shri Shahnawaz Hussain, Former Union Minister, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament and Shri Nishikant Dubey, Member of Parliament were present at Hansdiha end to grace the occasion. The programme was conducted through video conferencing between Rail Bhawan, New Delhi & Hansdiha, Jharkhand. Member Traffic, Railway Board Shri Mohammed Jamshed, Member Engineering Shri AK Mittal, other Railway Board members and senior officials were also present on the occasion at Rail Bhawan.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu said that he was happy that this will result in general upliftment of the area and will go in long way in satisfying the needs of the local people. This section will shorten the distance between Rampurhat and Bhagalpur by 156 km. Apart from this an alternate route from Rampurhat and Bhagalpur will also be available which will shorten the distance between Rampurhat and Bhagalpur by 27 km. He also said that in future Indian Railways will continue to work on such projects to benefit the local people.

About Mandar Hill - Dumka - Rampurhat New Rail Line Project:
This new section is part of the project connecting Mandar Hill to Rampurhat via Dumka (130 km). The project cost of Mandar Hill to Dumka section is Rs. 457 crore. With the opening of this section between Hansdiha and Barapalasi, the entire project between Mandar Hill and Rampurhat stands completed and now the train can operate from Bhagalpur to Dumka, Bhagalpur to Rampurhat via Dumka and Bhagalpur to Jasidih via Dumka. This will result in providing rail connectivity and alternate route from the major station of Bhagalpur to Deoghar and Rampurhat.

Minister of Railways Launched and Dedicated Various Services to the Nation

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Railways during a function held at Rail Bhawan today i.e. 29.09.2016, as a part of fulfilment of Budget Announcements 2016-17, launched and dedicated following services to the nation : -
  1. Liberalised station to station special freight rates policy
  2. Policy providing sub quota of 33 % to women within reserved categories for the allotment in catering units.
  3. Policy giving preference to local domicile holders for commercial licenses at stations.
  4. New system of allocating vacant berths after final charting to wayside stations.
  5. Launch of the new “Train at a Glance” and new Time Table effective from 1st October 2016.

Minister of Railways Modifies Senior Citizens Concession Rules
Ministry of Railways has decided to grant concession only to senior citizens of Indian Nationality, permanently residing in India.

It has been clarified that Senior Citizen concession shall not be admissible to the senior citizen of foreign nationals & NRIs.

The revised rule for concession to Senior Citizen should be as under:

Male Senior Citizen of the age of 60 years and above and 58 years & above in case for women senior citizen.
A Senior Citizen of Indian Nationality, permanently residing in India of the age of 60 years and above for Men Senior citizen and 58 years and above in case of Women Senior Citizen shall only be eligible for concession in passenger fare.

This has been come into effect from 29th September 2016.

‘Mission Raftaar’ of Indian Railway Starts To Yield Results

Ghaziabad - Allahabad - Mughalsarai Route is Taken Up on Priority Basis Trains on this Section Now Runs With Improved Average Speed

The Mission Raftaar project of the Indian Railways has now picked up and started yielding results. Under this project measures are being taken to raise average speed of both passenger carrying trains and freight carrying trains. The Mission is being spearheaded by a cross disciplinary mobility Directorate in the Railway Board. The average speed is reckoned as one of the key indicators of all the railway productivity and efficiency in operations and utilization of assets.

Guard Vans also to have Zero Discharge Bio Toilets in place of Conventional Toilets in Line with the Swachh Bharat Initiatives of Indian Railways

New Facilities in the Guard Van are Environment Friendly
Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu inspected and flagged off the newly manufactured Guard Van of Goods (Freight) Train today, i.e. 05th October 2016 at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. The newly manufactured Guard Van of Goods Train (8 wheeled) has been equipped for the first time with Solar powered Light, Fan, Mobile Charging Point along with the facility of Zero discharge Bio Toilet. On this occasion, Member Rolling Stock, Railway Board Shri Hemant Kumar, Member Traffic, Railway Board Shri Mohammed Jamshed, Financial Commissioner Railways, Shri KV Nanda, were also present.
