नई दिल्ली.राजधानी, शताब्दी और दुरंतो ट्रेनों में सर्ज प्राइसिंग शुरू करने के बाद भारतीय रेलवे अगले महीने से ‘हमसफर’ ट्रेनों को चलाने जा रहा है। इन ट्रेनों का किराया सामान्य मेल या ऐक्सप्रेस सेवाओं से तकरीबन 20 फीसदी ज्यादा होगा।
रेल मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु ने 2016-17 के रेल बजट में ‘हमसफर’ ट्रेनों का ऐलान किया था। ये ट्रेनें एक खास श्रेणी की सेवा ही उपलब्ध कराएंगी यानी इनमें केवल एसी 3 कोच ही रहेंगे। शुरुआत में इस ट्रेन सेवा के नई दिल्ली से गोरखपुर के बीच शुरू होने की संभावना है।
रेल मंत्रालय के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने कहा है कि हमसफर ट्रेन रातभर के सफर के लिए विशेष सेवाओं वाली इंटरसिटी ट्रेन है। इसमें मौजूद सेवाएं

Joka-Majerhat Metro Rail may be ready by mid-’18

Kolkata: If all goes according to plans, pandal-hoppers can take the Metro from Joka to Majerhat in 2018.

General Manager Kolkata Metro Railway M C Chauhan has asked Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) to expedite work on the Joka-BBD link and complete the 7.74-km stretch up to Majerhat in the next 18-odd months. He will meet state officials in the next few days to ensure all the hurdles are removed.

Noida Metro Stations to be powered by Solar Energy



Noida: Noida Metro Corridor will start using solar energy to run its 21 stations. The solar power will be used not only to run 29.7 km Noida Metro corridor but also its offices and train depot. Using solar power, noida metro corridor will become India’s greenest metro corridor.

The practices being followed are similar to those Delhi Metro is employing in Phase-3 and some of its existing stations, but Noida Metro will stand out as India’s most environment-friendly Metro project because the entire corridor will use solar power, right from its head office to parking lots and footbridges.

India and China to cooperate on Delhi-Nagpur High-speed rail

New Delhi: India and China have signed two inter-governmental documents and 18 other documents for cooperation covering a host of issues, including a feasibility study on Delhi-Nagpur high speed railway, construction of Delhi-Chennai high-speed railway and establishment of China-India Technology Park in Hainan Province.

CRRC to supply Nagpur Metro Rail coaches

Nagpur: Chinese state-run company China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) will set up a railway coach and equipment manufacturing unit at Butibori MIDC Extension, to fulfil the tender bagged by it to supply coaches to Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL). CRRC has won a Rs. 851 crore contract to supply 69 coaches for Nagpur Metro’s 38.215 km Phase 1 project. A memorandum of understanding will be signed between the company and state industries department on Saturday in the presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and union transport minister Nitin Gadkari on October 15.

Railway Modernisation picks up steam after pressure from Prime Minister

Dhanbad: Suspected Maoists triggered three blasts on railway tracks in Bokaro during their protest week that concluded on Tuesday, underlining loopholes in security in Dhanbad division’s CIC section that continues to be a soft target of Naxalites.

Rebels blew up two concrete sleepers of the tracks and set fire to the diesel engine of a goods train near Dumri Vihar station on October 6.

CRS rakes up ‘approval’ issue after successful ‘trial runs’ of Talgo



New Delhi: The Railways may have successfully conducted the Spanish-made Talgo train run trial which clocked just about 12 hours between Delhi-Mumbai route, however, it seems to have run into a controversy.

Taking cognisance of Talgo trials, Commissioner Railway Safety has sought details of the Spanish-made train and asked the Railways how the trial was conducted without its approval.

New Delhi: Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain on Thursday held discussions with the Russian Railways authorities for collaborating on a dedicated high-speed freight corridor, railway officials said. A senior railway official told IANS that the minister held discussions with the Russian officials and also discussed issues like modernisation of existing rail corridors, train traffic and transportation, training and knowledge sharing and rolling stock modernisation.

Indian Railways on Thursday also announced that it will collaborate with Germany on high-speed trains. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on railways and high-speed trains on Friday.

Aiming to reduce travel time significantly, Railways will ink a pact with Germany for running high-speed trains in the country.

Accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt, will meet Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on October 14. “Both ministers will be focusing on deepening collaboration and strengthening ties in field of railways and high-speed trains,” the Ministry of Railways said.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the two countries for bilateral cooperation in the rail sector, said a senior Railway Ministry official.

Dobrindt is on a four day ‘follow-up’ visit to India from October 12 to 15. According to railways, it is a “follow-up” to Prabhu’s visit to Germany in April.

The German minister will hold talks with Prabhu in Rail Bhavan. Both ministers will focus on deepening collaboration and strengthening ties in the field of railways and high speed trains.

After the meeting, the MoU will be signed between Indian Railways and DB Engineering and Consulting GmbH.
