भारतीय रेल कार्यशालाओं के आधुनिकीकरण के संगठन ‘कॉफमो’ ने वर्ष 2018 में सर्वश्रेष्ठ कामकाज किया। यह संगठन आधुनिक और उन्नत मशीनी उपकरणों की खरीद के लिए एक उत्कृष्ट केन्द्र है और वह डिब्बों और इंजनों के रखरखाव तथा निर्माण सुविधाओं को आधुनिक बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। इस इकाई ने 15 जनवरी, 2019 तक वर्ष 2018-19 के दौरान 1050.85 करोड़ रुपए का कामकाज किया।

आधुनिक मशीनों की खरीद और समय पर काम को पूरा करने में पिछली तिमाही के दौरान बहुत इजाफा हुआ। इससे भारतीय रेल को डिब्बों, इंजनों और पटरियों के निर्माण को आधुनिक बनाने तथा बुनियादी ढांचे के रखरखाव को बहुत समर्थन मिलेगा।
