RPF/ER RECOVERED 21KG GANJA, ARRESTED TOUT, RESCUED TEENAGED BOYS & GIRLS & RECOVERED LEFT BEHIND BAGS

Railway Protection Force (RPF)/Eastern Railway plays a pro-active role to provide all out security to the rail users ranging from rescuing teenaged boys & girls, arresting touts, recovering narcotics and left behind bags. They have also made commendable works to extend guidance & assistance to the rail users besides their task of ensuring security to the passengers. Some of the recent incidents where RPF, Eastern Railway made its fullest efforts are detailed as under:-
 
A)Arrest & recovery of Ganja: o­n 28.12.2020, officers & staff of RPF Post, Howrah South arrested two persons with recovery of 21 kg Ganja valued ₹.2,10,000/- at Howrah Railway station (New Complex). Both the apprehended persons together with the recovered & seized ganja were handed over to GRP, Howrah for further course of action.
 
B)Arrest of tout: o­n 24.12.2020, officers & staff of RPF Post, Dum Dum and CIB, Sealdah arrested a tout at PRS counter of Dum Dum Railway station with recovery of three Railway tickets valued ₹.585/-, cash ₹.325/- and other incriminating articles from his possession.
 
C)Rescue: 
 
1)On 26.12.2020, officers & staff of RPF Post, Howrah Central rescued a minor boy while he  was found loitering at Howrah Railway station premises. o­n being asked, he stated that o­n 25.12.2020 he alongwith his mother came to Howrah station from Bihar and his mother left him alone at Howrah Railway station. Later o­n, he was handed over to Child Line Howrah for further course of action.
2)On 26.12.2020, o­n duty Train Escort Party of RPF, Asansol rescued a teenaged girl in 03106 Balia – Sealdah Special Express at Asansol Railway station. It could be learnt that she ran away from home after quarrelling with her sister. Later o­n, she was handed over to Child Line, Asansol through RPF Post, Asansol (West) o­n proper documentation.
3)On 27.12.2020, RPF Post, Howrah North rescued a teenaged boy while he was found loitering at Howrah Railway station. o­n being asked, he disclosed his identity. It could be learnt that he ran away from home. He was handed over to his mother o­n proper documentation.
 
D)Recovery of left behind luggage: 
 
1)On 27.12.2020, o­n receipt of information, officers & staff of RPF Post, Magra recovered a left behind trolley bag containing valuable documents, new clothes, etc. worth of  ₹.5,000/- in Barddhaman – Howrah EMU local (37832 DN) at Magra Railway station . Later o­n, the recovered bag was handed over to its owner after due verification & o­n proper documentation.
2)On 28.12.2020, officers & staff of RPF Post, Howrah North recovered an unclaimed mobile phone valued ₹.15,000/- at Platform No.15 of Howrah Railway station. Later o­n, the recovered mobile phone was handed over to Golabari Police Station for its further disposal to its owner who has already lodged a missing diary about this at the said police station.
