जबलपुर-गोंदिया ब्रॉडगेज रेल लाइन खुलने के साथ ही जबलपुर और नागपुर के बीच व्हाया गोंदिया इंटरसिटी चलाने की माँग तेज हो गई है।

रेलवे से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार सांसद राकेश सिंह, विधायक विनय सक्सेना, रेल उपयोगकर्ता समिति के सदस्य डॉ. सुनील मिश्रा, राकेश चौधरी और मंडल रेल उपयोगकर्ता सलाहकार समिति के पूर्व सदस्य सुबोध जैन ने जबलपुर रेल मंडल के मंडल प्रबंधक संजय विश्वास को पत्र लिखकर जबलपुर-भोपाल जनशताब्दी एक्सप्रेस की तर्ज पर व्हाया गोंदिया जबलपुर से नागपुर के बीच इंटरसिटी को प्रतिदिन चलाने का प्रस्ताव रखा है।

जिसमें कहा गया है कि इंटरसिटी की टाइमिंग ऐसी रखी जाए कि वो सुबह जबलपुर से चले और नागपुर पहुँचने के बाद शाम को वापस जबलपुर लौट आए। बताया जा रहा है कि रेल मंडल कार्यालय ने जबलपुर-नागपुर के बीच इंटरसिटी चलाने के लिए प्रस्ताव बनाकर पमरे महाप्रबंधक कार्यालय भेज दिया है, जिस पर जल्द विचार किया जाएगा।

मरीजों को राहत मिलेगी

इन पत्रों में कहा गया है कि जबलपुर-गोंदिया ब्रॉडगेज परियोजना के प्रारंभ होने से जबलपुर और नागपुर के बीच करीब 250 किलाेमीटर की दूरी कम हो गई है, जिसकी वजह से नागपुर पहुँचने में अब करीब 5 घंटे का समय लगेगा, जबकि अभी तक इस दूरी को तय करने में करीब 9 से 10 घंटे का समय लग रहा था। प्रस्ताव में यह भी कहा है कि अगर इंटरसिटी शुरू कर दी जाती है तो सामान्य यात्रियों के साथ इलाज कराने के लिए नागपुर जाने वाले मरीजों को भी काफी हद तक राहत मिल सकती है।
