Swedish public transport operator Skånetrafiken has received the final 30 Coradia Nordic regional trains from Alstom. This then completes orders placed in 2014 and 2015. The 30 regional trains add to the operator’s existing fleet of 69 trains. This brings Skånetrafiken’s total fleet of Coradia Nordic regional trains to 99, making it one of the largest fleets in the country.

Specifications for the Alstom Coradia Nordic Regional Trains
The Coradia Nordic trains, better known as ‘Pågatågen’, have four cars each. Their overall length is 74 metres, with a capacity of up to 510 passengers. Furthermore, these trains can run at a top speed of 160km/h. These trains also have positive environmental credentials as well. Not only do they run on electricity, they are 98 percent recyclable.

Specifically, the Coradia Nordic trains are part of Alstom’s Coradia family. This is a family of modular trains. Alstom has sold more than 2,800 of them to date. 2,300 meanwhile are currently in operation. Alstom engineers in Salzgitter, Germany, manufactured the trains for this particular order.
