ट्रेन में हर दिन लाखों यात्री सफर करते हैं। लेकिन 99 फीसदी को यह पता नहीं होगा कि ट्रेन का फुल फॉर्म क्‍या है। यहां जानिए इसका जवाब।

भारत में ट्रेन परिवहन का सबसे जरूरी हिस्‍सा है। पिछले करीब 200 साल से यह लोगों की यात्रा का सुलभ साधन बनी हुई है। ट्रेन में यात्रा करने का अपना अलग ही मजा है। इसमें बैठकर आप पूरी मौज मस्‍ती के साथ दो दिन तक का सफर भी बिना किसी बोरियत के गुजर जाता है। देखा जाए, तो ट्रेन यात्रा न केवल सस्‍ती है , बल्कि इसके जरिए हम खूबसूरत नजारों का आनंद ले सकते हैं।
वैसे हम सालों से ट्रेन में यात्रा करते आ रहे हैं। ट्रेन के बारे में काफी कुछ पढ़ते सुनते भी रहते हैं। पर क्‍या आपको पता है कि ट्रेन का फुल फॉर्म क्‍या है। जी हां, ट्रेन का भी पूरा नाम है, जिसके बारे में 99 फीसदी लोग नहीं जानते। किसी रेलवे वाले को भी इसके बारे में शायद ही पता हो। तो चलिए आज हम आपको बताते हैं कि ट्रेन का पूरा नाम आखिर है क्‍या।

जानकर हैरत जरूर होगी कि ट्रेन का भी पूरा नाम है। इसका मतलब है Tourist Railway Association Inc”. अगली बार जब कोई आपसे “ट्रेन” का पूरा नाम पूछे, तो आप आत्मविश्वास के साथ यह जानकारी उनके साथ शेयर कर सकते हैं।

जानिए इन शब्‍दों के पूरे नाम भी

IRCTC- Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. यह भारतीय रेलवे के लिए खानपान, पर्यटन और ऑनलाइन टिकटिंग संचालन के मैनेजमेंट के के लिए जिम्मेदार है।
IRFC- Indian Railway Finance Corporation
IRCON – Indian Railway Construction Limited
RVNL- Rail Vikas Nigam Limited

कहां से आया ट्रेन शब्‍द

ट्रेन ट्रांसपोर्टेशन का एक ऐसा मोड है, जो कई सारे डिब्‍बों के साथ रेलवे ट्रैक पर चलती है। ‘ट्रेन’ शब्द की उत्पत्ति पुराने फ्रांसीसी शब्द ‘ट्रैहिनर’ से हुई है। इसका अर्थ है ‘खींचना, जो लैटिन शब्द ‘ट्रैहेरे’ से लिया गया है। ट्रेनों का उद्देश्य लोगों या माल को लाना ले जाना है।

हालांकि, आजकल सेल्‍फ प्रोपेल्‍ड ट्रेन भी चलने लगी हैं जिन्हें मल्टीपल यूनिट्स के रूप में जाना जाता है। रेलरोड कारों, जिन्हें आमतौर पर वैगन के रूप में जाना जाता है, का उपयोग यात्रियों और माल को ले जाने के लिए किया जाता है। दिलचस्‍प बात यह है कि हर ट्रेन को एक निश्चित गेज के अनुसार बनाया जाता है, जो कि पटरियों के बीच की दूरी है। बता दें कि ज्‍यादातर ट्रेनें स्टील के पहियों वाली स्टील की पटरियों पर चलती हैं, जिससे कम घर्षण होता है और ये अन्‍य साधनों की तुलना में इसे ज्‍यादा कुशल बनाता है।
