Shri Vidyadhar Avinash Malegaonkar, an officer of Indian Railway Traffic Service IRTS (1991 Batch) has taken over the charge of Principal Chief Operation Manager of Western Railway.Prior to this, he was working as Chief Vigilance Officer atJawaharlal Nehru Port, Mumbai.

Shri Malegaonkar has served in Indian Railways in various capacities such as Assistant Transportation Manager, Divisional Transportation Manager, Divisional Operation Manager (COAL), Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Deputy Chief Operations Manager, Deputy General Manager, Chief Public Relations Officer, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Divisional Railway Manager. He has also served as Deputy General Manager, Chief Manager in Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR). Shri Malegaonkar also worked with Government of Maharashtra where he held the post of Co-Ordinating Officer.

He completed his graduation in Civil Engineering and has Masters in Political Science as well Master of Philosophy (Political Science). Shri Malegaonkar has undergone international training in Malaysia & Singapore. He has keen interest in books and is an avid reader.
